BLM: 2 Poems by T. Montalvo

“Black Lives Matter”
T. Montalvo

Beaten to a pulp and
Locked up.
Attacked from all sides,
Chastised and
Killed relentlessly.

Loving,
Intelligent,
Virtuous people
Educating their kids on
Surviving while Black.

My heart
Aches at
The injustices
Taking place
Everywhere.
Repeat after me: No Justice, No Peace.

“The Riot Policeman’s Stare”
T. Montalvo

The anger in his eyes shows
hate in his heart.
He looks too angry.
He doesn’t see human beings,
look at him glare. He thinks
he is looking at animals.
Look carefully at his face,
he looks too angry.
